Hello,
You may be coming down with a respiratory infection and feeling general signs of inflammation or have a dental infection. The border of the mandible can feel like a series of harder connected lumps especially if you are investigating while feeling around. Your lymph nodes, responding as a first line of defense, can feel like hard seperate swellings in this location.
Take some Antiinflammatory medication such as
Tylenol and Advil. Keep well hydrated, rest and take adequate vitamins. Look for signs of a dental infection including specific tooth pain, inability to put pressure on a tooth and a bubble in the gym close to a tooth. See your
dentist for an X-ray and exam. Wisdom teeth can be evaluated as well. Grinding your teeth or any broken, untreated dental conditions should be considered as possible causes.
If you develope a
sore throat, increased
ear pain, congestion or fever without any specific dental problems, see your physician for an exam. Sinus or an
ear infection will need to be considered. Antibiotics may be required for treatment from your dentist or physician depending on the diagnosis.
Thank you for your inquiry. I hope that you find my suggestions helpful.
