Suggest Treatment For Having Enterococcus Faecalis In Urine

Last 2 weeks when I urinate it pains . I got my urine cultured and the result was Colony Count >100,000 col/ml. Organisms Grown : ENTEROCOCCUS SPS Grown in Culture . PUS Cells 4 to 6 hpf Bacteria : Present(1+).
What is this what treatment should I take. Please advice

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.

There is obviously an uroinfection present so you need antibiotic treatment course. This is not common bacteria which is causing it so specific antibiotic treatemnt with Ciprofloxacin is necessary which should be taken for 1 days. Symptoms should improve after 10 days from the beginning of therapy. ALso , during this time you should drink plenty of fluids, take raspberry tea or juice and avoid sexual intercourse. You should then repeat urinoculture after the course is over.
