General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Pneumonia is a common disease which generally responds well to antibiotics. Usually, the patient is completely normal within a week, but in a few cases, the recovery time period may extend to a month.

Regarding your child, mild headache is possible but persistent cough with mucus, especially if the mucus is greenish or yellow needs to be assessed by your doctor who might get complete blood count which is a blood test and a chest x-ray to make sure pneumonia has been completely cured. Occasionally there is also a chance of recurrence of pneumonia in children.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Talal Hussain, General & Family Physician
