Suggest Treatment For Headache And Dizziness While On Effexor
I recently was tapered off my 37.5 mg dose of effexor.,..2wks ago....for hot flashes. I also switched my antidepressant from 20 mg Viibryd to Wellington st 300 mg. After 10 days...started feeling flu like, crying for no reason,. Headaches, dizziness...is this from stopping effexor or intolerance to new antidepressant? Am very sick & waiting for drs office to call back.
The symptoms are consistent with common causes like a migraine or a tension headache, as first-line management, you can try analgesics like aceclofenac or tramadol for pain relief.
If symptoms persist, better to consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI brain to rule out possible intracranial (inside the brain) causes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
