Hi,
Nifedipine is a calcium-channel blocker commonly prescribed to treat
high blood pressure and peripheral vascular diseases and is available in the brand names of Procardia and Adalat.
Side effects of Procardia and Adalat that are similar include dizziness, joint pain,
muscle cramps, headache, drowsiness, tired feeling,
constipation, stomach pain, insomnia, flushing, and urinating more than usual.
As far as headache and dizziness are concerned you may try message therapy, drink plenty of water, rest in quiet and dimly lit room, or by taking
paracetamol.
If you do not get relief, consult your doctor for an alternative effective medication or a possible dose reduction. You may take Adalat but only after consulting your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
