Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yes please a dear friend has jaw pain and headache. He gets regular dental check ups nothing wrong there. I suggested teeth grinding at night? He won t go to the doctor so I m trying to help any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you YYYY@YYYY
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain jaw pain and headache with regular dental checkup that does not indicate any dental problem can be due to causes like Jaw joint dysfunction also known as TMJ/TMD.. It can be secondary to teeth grinding or clenching habit.. Secondly it can also be due to nerve related pain known as Trigeminal Neuralgia if pain occurs in short bouts of electric shock like or very severe pain.. But for initiating an appropriate treatment he should get a proper evaluation done and it will involve investigations like a full mouth x ray known as Panoromic x ray while to look for nerve related pain an MRI Scan can help.. As of now he can take Narocotic painkillers like Ibuprofen for pain relief.. If pain is severe Narcotic painkillers like Tramadol can help..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
