Suggest Treatment For Headache And Painful Lump In The Neck For A 57-year-old
57 year old male. I work out about 3 times a week. I am high-strung and when I get up during the night I notice a dull headache and neck pain. Not during the day. I have a computer, desk job. During my massage today, I told her of the neck pain so she worked that area. The therapist said I had a lump in my neck. I can understand a stress knot but the word lump scared me. Thoughts?

Suggest Treatment For Headache And Painful Lump In The Neck For A 57-year-old
Hello, 1. In this case first I would examine you, and locate the lesion. 2. After that, I would perform an ultrasound scan - cheap /non-invasive/ no radiation. 3. It will help to find out whether it s from your thyroid/lymph node / brachial cleft cyst/lymphocele. 4. Ultrasons will also helps to evaluate whether its operable or no - involvement of the neck vessels. 5. So you better make an appointment with your doctor and accelerate the process. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
