Suggest Treatment For Headache, Ear Pain And Swollen Face
My daughter 34 yrs started with a headache and ear pain a couple of days ago. and puffy swollen face under the eyes. thought probably a sinus infection called the doctor Friday and she called in a prescription for amor`clav875-125 mg tablet as I was not able to get her to the doctors office. She has had one dose. About 2am she started with severe pain and swelling in her left eye. Not sure if this is a reaction to the antibiotic or something else. I think she has probably had this antibiotic before. My daughter has Williams Syndrome, diabetes, asthma, hypothyroid and fibromyalgia.
The swollen eye is related to the sinus infection. It doesn't seem to be an allergic reaction to the drug. Only one dose is not enough. I recommend continue this drug and taking ibuprofen for the pain. If her situation does not improve in a couple of days, I recommend going to the ER for a physical exam and a brain CT scan or MRI.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
