Suggest Treatment For Headache, Leg Pain And Fever In A Child

My 8 yr old son is having headaches leg pain and fever 101.8 at its highest ibuprofen alone has him in pain and fever rising 4 hours after he s taken it what should I do to keep him comfortable and w/o fever in between doses once it wears off or should I take him to the er?

Hi..Can understand your concern.As per your query about fever and pain in leg and headache can be due to many causes like infection (bacterial or viral like it can be a usual flu )or may be any boil or abcess or UTI or any gastric infection through food.You need to go for his blood investigation to know the exact cause of fever and pain.You need to consult a paediatrician or to emergency room for proper evaluation and diagnosis and accordingly treatment.Till then for fever you should give him paracetamol 10-15 mg /kg body wt.8 hrly or according to fever.I hope the information helps you.Take care.
