Suggest Treatment For Headache, Mild Fever, Vomiting And Diarrhea
this is the second day of a headache and low grade temperature that started with vomiting the morning after eating a grilled chicken sandwich at a baseball game. Today there is no vomiting, but smelly diarrhea. We think it is probably food poisoning. What should we look for that would indicate seeing a doctor? We re guessing lots of fluids and waiting it out is the best course right now.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM The symptoms you present suggest a digestive infection that may be caused by a viral, bacterial or parasitic infection or just food poisoning. Most digestive infections will however give systemic manifestations like headache and fever. To identify the exact cause of your problem, a stool exam and culture will be good.I will suggest you take oral rehydration salt and zinc tablets. If diarrhea too serious, an anti-diarrheal like imodium may help and if vomiting persist, you may take an anti-emetic like vogalene. You may reduce fiber intake and take bananas if possible.Your etiologic management will be after the stool exam. You may have to see a Doctor for this. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
