Suggest Treatment For Headaches And Insomnia After Stopping Lonazep
My wife after delivery got myoclonal jerk. The doctor recommended to take 0.5mg lonazep one tablet per day before sleep. Now almost 10yrs over. Still she continues the tablet. Now she is getting shivering, headache and not able to sleep whenever she stops taking the tablet. Now we want to have another child(First child is 10yrs old). Is it right decision to go for another child with continuing lonazep?
I read your problem and you want another child but your wife is on lorazepam since 10 years.
As lorazepam is not studied in human being for use during pregnancy but animal studies has shown some problems during pregnancy hence it is better to avoid lorazepam during pregnancy.
In such cases i usually advice to stop the medication and taper the dosage and then stop the drug and check out for myoclonal jerk.If your wife is symptom free then no need of lorazepam.
Please consult your nearby neurologist and gyanecologist for further evaluation.
Thank you.
Regards, Dr.Om
