I have a lot of things i don t know really what is wrong. Firstly, when ever I open my mouth to eat or talk my jaw seams to crack. Secondly , I have got into a habit of clicking my neck because it stiffens up all the time giving me headaches. I was wondering if The clicking in my neck could cause My jaw to become loose, and if Anything could be done about this
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of headaches and pain in jaws which is because of temporomandibular joint dislocation as sometimes articular disk may not be of right shape to allow the jaw bone to smoothly glide forward and down and leads to creaking sound occurs which is crepitus.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to try to relax jaw when symptoms occurs and don't chew gum or any other hard foods. Apply warm compresses. Mouth guard is an effective treatment method for this. Medications such as Cyclobenzaprine is effective for tightness of muscles. Visit oral physician once if symptoms keeps on persisting and get thorough examination done and start treatment accordingly. Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation of jaw muscles is an effective physical therapy way.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
