Suggest Treatment For Headaches And Soreness In Neck

I have had a bad headache all day. It is making me nauseous and vomited 2 times. The pain is in and around my forehead and left eye area. I feel pressure in my ears and soreness in my neck. Should I be more concerned and visit the ER or just rest. I have talen 8mg zofran and 800 mg ibuprofen with no relief.

Hello,

The following are few probable causes of headache with nausea and vomiting:
1) Migraine headache
2) Cluster headache
3) Headache due to meningitis or encephalitis
4) Tension headache
5) Headache due to brain tumor

Mostly yours is migraine headache. The following are few treatment options:
1) Tab. Acetaminophen 1000mg orally.
2) Dihydroergotamine 2mg nasal spray
3) NSAIDs like aspirin 500mg orally, or ibuprofen 400mg, Naproxen 500mg.
4) Triptans: sumatriptan 25 or 50mg orally
5) Zolmitriptan 25mg orally.
6) Combination therapy: Acetaminophen 500mg, aspirin 500mg and caffeine 130mg orally.
7) Also, Sumatriptan 85mg plus Naproxen 500mg combination can be very effective.

Also please follow the below instructions to reduce the frequency of attacks of migraine:
1) Establish regular sleep hours.
2) Unwind at the end of the day.
3) Lessen distractions
4) Exercise regularly
5) Avoid foods and sounds that trigger migraines.
