Suggest Treatment For Headaches And Tender Knot On Forehead

My daughter developed a hard knot on her forehead, it is sore to touch and is giving her a headache. She has not bumped her head, after bringing it to my attention mid-day it seems to have gotten a bit bigger in diameter and is protruding from her forehead even more. Other than the pain at the sight and the headache, she has no other symptoms, no fever, dizziness, etc.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Since it was spontaneous in onset tender to touch, likely it is a boil / folliculitis that may need antibiotic therapy. Try taking ibuprofren tablet three times a day, after food, for 3 days and apply hot fomentation. If not getting down by then or fever or pus point comes in, kindly see your doctor for antibiotic therapy / drainage.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
