Suggest Treatment For Headaches In An Elderly Person

I have a headache in the top half of my head. Is seldom have headaches. I am wondering if it is a sinus infection or blockage. It hurts if I turn quickly. It started during the night and has persisted throughout the day. My blood pressure is not the problem. Checked it and it is 138 over 68. I am 82 yrs of age and in rather good health and very active. I do have a routine annual exam in a week or so.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Sinus infections would normally cause facial pain along with any other symptoms.
The facial pain is due to blockage of the sinuses in the face. Other possible symptoms would be nasal congestion or drainage, sneezing.

If you have these symptoms, then sinus infection is likely.

Other cause of headache include: migraines, tension headaches, cluster headaches, due to trauma, headaches due to a mass or bleed.
In most cases, the headaches are due to a benign (not dangerous) cause.

If it is severe or persistent then you should be seen earlier since you do not regularly have headaches.

I hope this helps
