Suggest Treatment For Headaches, Nausea And Anxiety
I have been give the prescription Citalopram HB R 20 mg...told to start for a week at 1/2 tablet per day in the morning. My neurologist today prescribed Nortriptyline at 10mg.....I have had headaches, nausea and anxiety for about a year and suddenly got worse so they tried botox and I am now dealing with a reaction and also had the Omega procedure that did not work
Many studies suggest that the combination of nortriptyline and citalopram is more effective than citalopram alone in the treatment of depression and anxiety. This advantage probably results from serotonin and noradrenergic reuptake inhibition.
In such syndromes, it may take between two to four weeks before nortriptyline and citalopram start to work and you begin to feel better, so it's very important that you keep taking it, even if it doesn't seem to make much difference at first.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
