Suggest Treatment For Hearing Loss And Sound In Ear

I have a sound in my left ear. The sound is like a wah-wah-wah and I only notice it when I hake my head from side to side. There is no pain associated with the sound when I shake my head. I have hearing loss in both ears, and I wear a hearing aid. My audiologist says I have no wax build-up or pressure in my ear, but she is not a medical Doctor. Any suggestions? Dangerous, treatable?

Hi,

Since you already have hearing loss and you are using a hearing aid, I would advise you to get yourself checked by an ENT specialist to rule out any new development. Usually the cause of any sound during shaking head amounts to presence of wax or foreign body inside the ear canal however in your case you have ruled it out by audiologist. The condition would be treatable however would depend on the cause. Thus, just relax and book an appointment with the ENT clinic.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
