Suggest Treatment For Hearing Loss In A Person With Meniere S Disease
I have Menieres in my right ear for the approximately 12 years. Went through the spins, drop attacks, etc. I had Gentamicin injections that seemed to help. However, recently my left ear has been clogged and I can t hear. I had a hearing test yesterday and I have a mild hearing loss. The doctor said there is a little never damage and he s leaning towards Menieres in that ear. I m on a heavy dosage of Predisone, 6, for a week, 4, 2 and then 1/2. How long will these drug take for my ear to unclog? Thank you! Does it necessarily mean I will lose my hearing in that ear as well?
Oral steroids may or may not help. The ear may be clogged due to fluid, in which case it should settle down in a week or two. Do not blow your nose hard. Try steam inhalations. Get your blood pressure and sugars checked. Avoid stress and practice meditation. Neck exercises, walking and yoga may also help. If the above fail, drug treatment may be required after doing appropriate hearing tests.
