Suggest Treatment For Hearing Loss

Hello Sir, I ve one friend who is good, handsome and very talented. But he can t hear and because of ear machine & lips movement, he can talk with us. I wanted to know about the treatment from which he can speak normally as normal person does and also wanted to know whether it s from birth or what because at the starting the parents couldn t recognize whether it s from birth or not. Enclosing his documents for your reference. Looking forward to communicate with you. Regards, Pallavi .M

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Hearing impairment in childhood can affect the speech as well. As the hearing is impaired from childhood his brain can not function well to understand the words and thus speaking is affected.

It is a difficult condition to cure. Intensive speech therapy can help a bit. Consult a speech therapist and he will direct accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
