my age is 50, I am 5 1 . I was born with a heart murmur and grew out of it. l had an apt w my dr the other day and my bp was 151/113. he id my orthopedic dr so tod me I needed to see someone. I just took my restinf heart bp and it is138/98 but my heart rate is 129 bpm. my mother has a stroke in august and collapsed and died while cutting grass. her bp had been a bit high but no other symptoms. who do I make an apt with. stroke dr or cardio?

Your symptoms are suggestive of congenital heart disease.I advise you to get an ECG,2 D Echo ,lipid profile,chest x ray to confirm the diagnosis.Monitor your blood pressure and heart rate regularly.Drugs like Anti hypertensives,Anti platelets,lipid lowering drugs will be helpful in your case.I suggest you to avoid smoking,alcohol and fatty foods.Exercise regularly.Fruits,oats,vegetable salads are healthy to prevent heart disease.Consult your cardiologist immediately for followup and expert management.You can meet neurologist once your cardiologist consultation is over.
