Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I've been having slight heart palipitations. I took my blood pressure and have had three different readings in five minutes time. First 114/69 then 95/69 then 121/93. I do exercise and eat healthy. I'M on a 20 MG dose of lipitor daily and 81mg of aspirin. I'M concerned about the palipitations.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... First of all your all three blood pressure readings are not to be much concerned of. Heart palpitation could be caused due to variety of Reasons as below. 1. heart problems such as coronary heart disease, cardiomyopathies etc. 2. Excessive stress could release hormones that could cause heart to work more & therefore palpitations. Some anti-depressant medicines could also cause same problem. 3. Use of alcohol, nicotine, and amphetamines could cause heart palpitations. Increased consumption of caffeine could also be responsible for the same. 4. Electrolyte imbalance in body
Both 20 MG dose of lipitor daily and 81mg of aspirin should be continued. Alcohol, smoking & any drugs should be completely stopped. Use of coffee should be restricted to 2 cups daily maximum.
Refer to your cardiologist, if problem persists Hope this information helps
