Suggest Treatment For Heart Palpitations, Dizziness And Blurred Vision

I'm a musician and was playing an outdoor gig. I started havin a racing heart beat, got very dizzy. Could hardly continue to stand. My husband brought me a chair and I finished the set. I could hardly walk when done. I sat on the ground but couldn't stand up and had to have help getting to the car. Slightly blurring vision. Also, I could breathe, but chest felt tight. I feel much better now, only a bit weak. Any ideaS?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Sudden onset palpitations, dizziness, inability to stand, difficulty in walking, blurred vision, chest tightness etc symptoms can occur due to panic attack and severe anxiety most probably. But some medical causes like hypotension, cardiac causes etc should be ruled out before making anxiety as cause of these symptoms. Please consult a psychiatrist for proper evaluation and help.

Medicines like benzodiazepines or beta blockers can be used for treatment of these severe symptoms. Propranolol or low dose Clonazepam or Lorazepam can help to reduce these acute symptoms. Visit a psychiatrist for help and prescription of these medicines.
