Suggest Treatment For Heartburn And Difficulty In Swallowing Food

Thank you for taking my question. I am a 37 year old female. I have been experiencing difficulty swallowing food, it gets stuck & have to drink water to get it down. This has been going on for months and recently getting worse. It doesn t matter how small of a bite I take or how well I chew the food. I have been also experiencing heartburn, extreme fatigue, my stomach feels like its full & hungry at the same time (I know that sounds weird). Thanks.

Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Problems with swallowing can be caused by acid reflux disease, some esophageal inflammation or even esophageal cancer. The last (however less possible) issue should force you to get tested. Especially if you smoke or/and have had heartburns before.
I suggest you to consult gastrologist. Gastroscopy is extremely advisable at your case.
In a meanwhile please avoid any fatty foods, spicy foods, fried foods, coffee, alcohol, orange juices and chocolate.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
