Hi,
Your wife needs to seek medical attention as soon as possible, as her
high blood pressure,
smoking, and stressful job put her at risk for several severe health conditions. High blood pressure can cause damage to the blood vessels in the body, leading to a
heart attack or stroke if left untreated.
For
heartburn, she should avoid foods and drinks that trigger it, such as fatty or spicy foods, chocolate, caffeine, and alcohol. She should also eat smaller meals and avoid eating close to bedtime. Over-the-counter antacids like Tums or Rolaids can neutralize stomach acids and provide relief.
As for the pain in her wrist, she may have
carpal tunnel syndrome, a common condition caused by a compressed nerve in the wrist. She can try using a wrist brace, taking over-the-counter pain relievers such as
ibuprofen, and resting her wrist as much as possible.
It is also important to address her smoking and stress, as both can contribute to high blood pressure and other health problems. She should talk to her doctor about quitting smoking and finding ways to manage stress, such as through exercise,
meditation, or counseling.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
