Suggest Treatment For Heaviness In Legs When Diagnosed With Lyme Disease

Hi, I have been having health issues for over 2 years. I have been diagnosed with later stage lymes disease. I still have heaviness in my legs and my toes remain stiff. I already experienced stabbing pain, burning and now I have a water sensation feeling like water running down my legs. Also pain in the feet. I have also been to a neurologist for quit a few tests and had to change and now sending me for another emg. I was on the prediabetic level of 5.7. Now with my last test it was fine at 5.3. I need answers and I am not getting any for over two years. My toes on one foot look distorted and I have bad knee pain. I though I had MS but neurologist stated no. What could this be? thanks

Hello,

Since you have had pre-diabetic level 5.3, you need to monitor your diet, switch to healthy lifestyle & get more active. Stay away from addictions if any. High glucose level in the blood triggers swelling in the feet, ankles or legs, RA, OA. Swelling may also be indicative of poor circulation due to obesity, water retention, gout, etc. Control your blood glucose levels at all cost. If obese you are suggested to loose weight by regular walking, exercises and by staying active.

Cut on salty food, carbs, trans fat, spicy, oily junk food. Take natural diuretics (green/black tea, parsley, water melons, grapes, berries, asparagus, bell peppers). Get clinically examined by a GP. Get all blood tests, Urinalysis imaging (CT, MRI, etc) tests done to detect the pathology causing you discomfort. You will be treated accordingly. For relief from pain you can take Combiflam, one SOS when needed. Take Evion-400mg for 15 days.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
