Suggest Treatment For Heavy Bleeding During Menstrual Cycle
Hi - I have been getting winded by just climbing the steps in our house or just moving quickly. This is very unusual because I work out at least 3-4 times per week and am in good shape. My heart starts beating super fast and I feel I need to sit or lay down. I have had a very heavy menstrual cycle over the last few months with this month being really bad. Is it possible I can be anemic?
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Being anemic after heavy periods is normal. You will however need a full blood count to evaluate the level of anemia.Heavy bleeding should always be investigated and taken care of.Its treatment will depend on the underlying cause.Possible causes are hormonal imbalances, pelvic masses and pelvic infections.I will suggest you see a Gynecologist for evaluation.A pelvic ultrasound may help identify the cause. If anemia too severe, you may need a transfusion or just anti-anemics and healthy food. This will be evaluated by your Doctor. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
