Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a Hemangiomia on the side of my right knee. I had a fall on Sunday Jan 25 and have been bed resting ever since, However, today have taken to mini walking which makes it swell immediately Approximately how long is recovery from this weird & wonderful Hemangiomia? I would be very grateful for your advice. Mrs irene Ashburn
Hemangiomas of muscle and bone are abnormal proliferations of blood vessels that may be asymptomatic or may cause symptoms such as pain and swelling. There are different type of Hemangiomas like: 1.Intramuscular hemangiomas 2.Synovial hemangiomas 3.Osseous hemangiomas(of bone) 4.Hemangiomatosis 5.Gorham disease 6.Gorham disease 1.Intramuscular hemangiomas: Observation is appropriate for asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic hemangiomas of skeletal muscle and bone. If symptoms cannot be managed adequately by activity modification and nonnarcotic analgesics, further treatment may be considered. 2.Synovial hemangiomas: Local pedunculated synovial hemangiomas are removed surgically, often through an arthroscope 3.Osseous hemangiomas: Hemangiomas of bone rarely require treatment
So my advice is to go to an specialist and let him see your knee. Then he will say what to do
Hope this information is helpful Best regards
