Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have recently had a bilateral thigh lift and have develop bleeding from the wound in about a 1 inch spot. I am going in to see my surgeon, but in the mean time he thinks it is a hematoma. I wanting the bleeding to subside. He doesn t seem to be as nervous as I am. Are there treatments for hematomas? if so, what should I be doing?
It is just some collection of blood post surgery. Every surgery has its complications and most of the times such hematomas can develop, it is nothing to be worried about since the bleeding will stop when the blood collected there is drained. It is only a serious if you had any history or underlying clotting factor deficiency or problems
