Suggest Treatment For Hemorrhoids

I am 52 going through typical menopausal symptoms not too bad but I have had rectal itching and figured I have hemorroides so I wash the area and use preparation H wipes which alleviate the itching but I am noticing a little blood when I wipe (just very little spots) but I ve never had that before. Should I see the doctor Monday? and if so, what type of Doctor should I see? I just assumed it s the natural aging and progression of menopause with harmonic changes. Would like to take care of it naturally. Don t want to be too worried nor too lax.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Do you have any pain while passing stools. If you have any pain while passing stools and constipation and blood on stools, it can be anal fissure(A cut or break of skin over your anus) and not hemorrhoids. If you have anal fissure, it will be very painful and you will need to use nitroglycerine cream (local anesthetic cream) over the area to relieve the pain.
If you have no pain and just constipation and blood on stools, it will be hemorrhoids.
Constipation is the reason for both the conditions. Just try to improve your food habits. Try to take more of fibers in your diet to relieve constipation. You can include more fresh fruits, salads in each and every meal. You can try to consume some fresh fruit juices with fibers as well. Try to drink more water everyday. Try to do some walking.
Also visit a surgeon to confirm the diagnosis. He will perform the examination of anus with an instrument called proctoscope and confirm if its hemorrhoids.
First follow normal healthy dietary modifications. Then visit a surgeon also.
