General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You did not mention, what treatment you had tried first & what treatment you have taken in the last. Also, the criteria of your declaring yourself free from disease, as just absence of symptoms temporarily for some time is not a permanent or complete cure. Natural remissions and relapses of symptoms is very frequent in this disease. Even the bio-chemical enzymatic levels are fluctuating in this disease tremendously and in many cases even coming to normal levels many times.

It is to be noted that a large no. of patients of this disease become free from disease with proper treatment and in some cases even without treatment. Unfortunately, some patients may not recover or deteriorate even with proper treatment. Every type of patient may have different prognosis, as infants and children or patients with other co-morbidity may have a unfavorable response as compared to other. Therefore controlled comparative studies are the only acceptable criteria to substantiate / refute your claim.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
