General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

An inguinal hernia will not heal by itself and does require surgery to be repaired.
The hernia may only be a small lump in the groin but can grow much larger over time.
Lifting heavy objects, working out, and exercises that use the abdominal muscles can make the hernia bulge,so I suggest to avoid these activities.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
