Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son age 42 has a herniated disc L4-5 observed on MRI. A month of PT and injections into back x2 as well as a course of oral cortisone has alleviate some pain but is still present. Orthopedic surgery is now scheduled. I have been reading about non invasive treatments for decompression of bulging disc. Is this an approved, tested, successful treatment? There is a Disc Institute here in Clinton Tshp, Michigan with patient interviews/u tube videos etc. I cannot find good information about the physician in charge, Dr Joseph Mannella. I this worth pursuing to avoid surgery??
