Hi Dear ! I have gone through your question and I understand your concern. Carafate (sucralfat) is a good drug to treat stomach or duodenal ulcer , is more specific to that.But yes you can use Carafate while you take lansoprazol (prevacid ) but you have to be careful when to take it. It will help by protecting your esophageal mucosa from the stomach acid . I will give you advices how to take it, so it will not decrease the effect of prevacid . Take Carafate with an empty stomach (2 h before meal or 1-2h after meal). The time between Carafate and Prevacid should be at least 1 hour ( don t take Carafate less than 1 your before or after prevacid .) You can take up to 2 teaspoon every time , up to 4 times a day . Cause Carafate contain Aluminium so if you have any sign of constipation , drowsiness, convulsion stop it immediately. You should feel better max in 1 week. Wish you good health.
