Hi sir....i have Hidradenitis suppurativa skin disease from more than a year.....and day by day it s become painful for me......please suggest me something sir .....actually i m from Patiala but now living in Chile ....so here i already take too much angibiotic medicines from very long time from different dermatologist but nothing is working so strongly now it puts bad effect on my other body and my work ...tell me what i have to do
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Hidradenitis suppurativa is inflammation of the sebaceous glands in the axillae and hence antibiotics have role only if there is an infection. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Use loose clothes so that there is aeration in the armpit area all the time, this is very important curative thing. Clean the area with plain water 4 times a day and dry up using hair dryer. Apply Liquid povidone iodine locally twice daily to avoid the the secondary infection. Take Therapeutic dosages of Vitamin A, D and multivitamins with mineral. Avoid stress and anxiety. Consult a General Surgeon if the medical management fails to resolve the issue to consider surgical excision of the affected skin.
