Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been experiencing lightheadedness high blood pressure and my ears will feel like they re clogged but I couldn t hear what sounds like running water from the faucet . I have regular monthly doctor appointments with the pain doctor and for the last five months my blood pressure has been very high . Last blood pressure I remember having been taken was about 155 over 114.
Hi, The blood pressure reading of 155 over 114 is a cause of concern. I would not let my patient without medications at that levels. I would recommend you to have regular home based blood pressure measurements. If the blood pressure is consistently at the same level; I would recommend you to consult physician for beginning medications. You need to undergo baseline investigations to access your glycemic status, lipid levels, renal function tests before beginning any medications. After the lab results are available, you will be usually offered a medication like telmisartan (Micardis) 20-40mg once daily for reducing blood pressure. Apart form medications regular physical activity, reduced salt intake and a well balanced diet helps in blood pressure control. You can discuss the above information with your physician. Hope the above information helps you. Thanks for writing into healthcaremagic.
