Hi,

See first of all your blood pressure is definitely high and you need to start some medication regularly for the same.

If you were comfortable with metoprolol and the blood pressure was controlled with it, then you can continue with it. however if there were some issues with metoprolol, then you can change the medicine. there are many antihypertensives available.

I can suggest some medicine like losartan 50 once a day. it is a safe medicine. you can start and keep monitoring your pressure.

But I feel you should meet the physician first and better to get yourself physically examined. you also need to undergo some investigations like kidney function tests, ECG, and lipid profile test is done.

As far as numbness of leg and arm is concerned, usually it is not caused by metoprolol. there can be other reasons for it. do get your sugar checked for it and also cervical spine ( neck x-ray )done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Milinda Gupta
