Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am bradycardic - partly fitness, partly genetic. My bp can rise to 155/70 on a pulse of low 40s. I get treated for high blood pressure as a result. The systolic can fall to around 120, perhaps over 60. Is it correct to treat this as high blood pressure?
Kindly check your BP daily for three consecutive days at the same time. Don't use stairs and don't smoke, prior to it. Rest for 5 minutes before getting the BP checked.
If levels are high, your hypertension is established. If it is only marginally raised, there is no need for medication and it should get corrected by lifestyle modifications. If not,you will need anti HT drugs.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
