Hi, I delivered baby 6.5 months back. For the past two months I felt very tired and When i asked my Gynec she suggested me to take thryoid test. Before 10 days she tested my TSH the TSH level is 6.7. As per her it is high( 4.5) and asked me to take the test yesterday and the results are below Delivered on 25th-Aug-2010 23-FEb-2010 ======== TSH : 6.7 10-March-2010 =========== TSH: 4.7 T4: 13 (Normal) TpoAB (30.1) TGab antobodies (258) My gynec said there is a mild hypo thyroidism and may not need medicines. I also went through some articles and understand it is subclinical This could be postpartum thyroiditis but anyways she refered to me endocrinologist. My appointment with specialist is only next month. But I am bit confused. I understand the TGaB antibodies is high which should be 60. But why my Gynec didnt give me any medicine to start with? I this normal in post-pregnancy.? Can anyone help? or had the same situation? 40 minutes ago - 4 days left to answer.
Your gyna doc did what supposed to be, he\she is not authorized to give you hormonal treatment. You should see an endocrinologist.
