Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My blood pressure has always been on the low side. I have a blood pressure machine at home and decided to check my blood pressure yesterday. It was 148/86 in the afternoon. I checked it again in the morning and it was 117/72. I checked it today when I got home from work and it was 154/90. I have never had high blood pressure and am concerned.
I went through your details. Blood pressure readings vary from time to time on the same day. For most people, blood pressure will be at its lowest in the early morning hours and then rise through the late morning and peak in midafternoon. Blood pressure varies throughout the day and is influenced by a number of factors like salt sensitivity, stress, emotional upsets and food sensitivities. Usually hypertension is diagnosed after repeated measurements of blood pressure at different time periods of day over a period of a week. I suggest you to consult a physician for further advise. Nothing to be alarmed of.
