General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Metoprolol succinate extended release tablets are given as 50mg to 100mg per day initially in divided doses.Usually the dose can be raised upto 400mg per day depending on the response.
That being said if i were treating you,i would raise the dose/day only after careful monitoring. There are side effects and since you arent clear about your age, general condition, other morbidities if any , i suggest you see your doctor before making changes as he will know your case better.
Thank you.
