Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
went to va for a physical and found I had high blood pressure, she gave me chlorthalidone 25 mg and said to cut in half, did that for a couple days and blood pressure hadn t come down any at all, for the past two days I have ate the whole pill and blood pressure still hasn t changed hardly at all. if I set for a 1/2 hr or so and check it comes down a couple of numbers but not much, supposed to go back the 10th of December , should I wait or call them and tell them its not working.
BP medication should be ten for a month before changing. I understand there is no need to call them, you should take your medicine as advised and make a chart of your BP records till you see your doctor.
BP medicine may take a month to work. Your doctor would see your chart and would plan ahead according to your BP.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
General & Family Physician
