General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

First of all, stop smoking and drug abuse.
Decrease salt consumption, avoid fried fast foods.
In some patients, where the blood pressure is not easily controlled, the drug usually prescribed is diuretic as Hydrochlorothiazide or Chlorthalidone along with other drugs.
Usually with 3 or 4 drugs , blood pressure is brought under control.
No doctor can predict that how long a person will live with any disease.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

With Regards,
Dr Varinder Joshi .
