Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has a cracked tooth and is having a root canal done tomorrow. He has seen his dentist and is on medication for pain which is a generic for Norco. At nine o clock this evening he took two Motrin 650 and his blood pressure is now 200/86. He is 73 y/o.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Blood pressure reading of 200/86 is considered as very high. It is accelerated hypertension. He should immune start antihypertensive drugs like telmosartan or losartan or amlodipine. So better to first consult cardiologist and start antihypertensive drugs. Better to first normalize his blood pressure and then go for root canal procedure. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your husband. Thanks.
