Hi, I am a 34 year old male and I just got a general medical checkup done and here are the results that seem a little worrying [ total cholestrol - 204 mg/dl , triglycerides - 107, hdl - 40, ldl - 143, vldl - 21, sgpt - 49 iu/l, globolin - 2.6, platelet count - 1.56 lacs/cumm, rbc - 4.55 mill/cumm]. which of these should I be worrying about....?
Hi welcome to HCM. You seem to have high levels of triglycerides and cholesterol. This is called Dyslipidemia.Drugs like statins and fibrates form the main stay of therapy.High blood levels have to be controlled in view to protect from cardio and cerebrovascular diseases.Regular physical exercise for 20 min a day and maintaining BMI around 22 will help to control the blood lipids.Semiannual lipid profile testing is needed in your case.Consult your cardiologist for further queries. Thank you
