Crestor does not have any significant interaction with colchicine. The common side effects of Crestor are headache, dizziness, constipation, nausea, vomiting,
abdominal pain, myalgia, chest pain, peripheral oedema/swelling, depression, insomnia, rash,
paraesthesia, asthenia, abnormal liver function test.
Crestor is the most effective medicine for treatment of
high cholesterol level. Others medicines include ezetimibe, gemfibrozil and niaicin. Which drug is used for lowering cholesterol depends upon your
lipid profile – HDL, LDL,
triglyceride, and
total cholesterol. Crestor will bring down LDL level which is bad cholesterol. Besides this, there are lifestyle and dietary changes which can bring down you cholesterol level.
Advice
1. Continue colchicine and Crestor as suggested
2. Do not take any medicine without your doctors suggestion
3. Exercise – start workout in gym at least for half an hour for 4 – 5 days in a week regularly. Start with a balanced mix of cardio,
weight training and flexibility exercises
4. Avoid eating high energy foods such as cakes, chocolates, chips etc.
5. Avoid alcohol and smoking
6. Increase consumption of high fiber diet such as wheat bread, dry date, vegetables etc
7. Drink 3 – 4 liters of water daily
8. Chew the food properly to make it easily digestible
9. Avoid excess intake tea and coffee after meal
10. Avoid oily & spicy food
11. Investigation – lipid profile, blood sugar (F & PP)
