Suggest Treatment For High Cholesterol Levels

Hi, i am 43 yrs old. I most of the time had a regular to minimal flow during periods. Until a few months ago when i had a non stop bleeding with big clots. My gynecoligist prescribed dicynonr 500 for the 1st 3 days of my period. And things are fine now after 3 months of treatment. But doctor said this is a temporary solution . A final solution would be the insertion of Mirena IUD. Will mirena work and what are side effects knowing that i have high cholesterol level and take crestor??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Mirena diu is a contraception method with device and hormones. I don't think this can change cholesterol levels or give bad consequences due to high cholesterol.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
