Suggest Treatment For High Fever And Infection In Child

Dear sir, My 2 year old son was suffering from fever since 4 to 5 days. we consult pediatrician doctor for the same. he examined throat of my son and told us that he may get infected by bacteria & they advised us to go for c reactive protin reoprt and malaria both. malaria report is nil but the c reactive protin range he got in the report is 27 instead of 0 to 6 normal range.doctor suggested us to admit the child in the hospital.but we refused and tell the doctor please prescribe us the syrup or medicine to cure the bacterial infection.he prescribed Clavam bid and flora cv for pediatric use. dosage of medicine is 4 ml twice a day for 7 days. will he alright after taking Clavam bid and flora cv for the seven days ????? or Should we admit our boy to the hospital for curing the high fever symptoms due to high bacterial infection ????? We gave our boy the ice cream for 4 to 5 days continuously before the infection. so we think all are because of cold ice cream or somewhat sugarcane juice. Please advise us in a right direction for above case what should we do. Mr.Swapnil Patel Ahmedabad , Mob : 0000

Hello,

Yes, mostly the cold ice cream is the culprit. You can take the antibiotic as prescribed by the pediatrician. If fever doesn't come down in 2 days, or it increases, you can admit the child in hospital. As of now, admission is not necessary. Along with the medicines, warm salt water gargles are effective.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello,

As your son had eaten ice cream he might have caught cold and upper respiratory infection which is very common. You can take those medications prescribed by your doctor promptly. As you give the medicine, the boy will start recovering in 2 days.

His fever will break and other symptoms decrease in intensity. If that doesn't happen within 2-3 days or the condition worsens then you need to get him admitted. But as of now, you can take the medication at home.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
