Suggest Treatment For High Fever And Red Throat In A Child
My 14 year old son woke up out of the blue yesterday with a high fever, chills and a very soar, red throat: unable to eat or drink it is so soar. I took him to urgent care last night: the PA on staff performed staff and mono tests which were negative. The fever broke this morning but he is still in a significant amount of pain and stated it tastes like blood in the back of his throat, although we do not see any. Thoughts?
Keep him rehydrated with fluid IV or orally if he is able to take. To keep fever in check he must be given antipyritic like paracetamol. For upper bacterial respiratory tract infection Azithromycin or levofloxicin are most effective ones. Hope it will help you and you will write to us further if you feel needy. Regards Dr Muzaffar
