Hi doctor, my son is 3 yrs 10 months old. He has high fever 102.1 so I gave him Meftal P , should I give calpol along with it now or after six hours? He has been prescribed these by the paediatric. He also has cough for which he is taking Levolin syrup twice daily. His fever has lasted a week now.He also complain of toothache as his molars are yet to come out. Please advise.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your son have symptoms of high fever and toothache which is due to teething only as child feels very irritated and exerted at that time. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to maintain hydration of child well. You should give child calcium tablets and do gentle massage of gums with clean cloth. Give probiotic such as curd in diet. Start giving oral rehydration fluids sip by sip to maintain the hydration. Visit pediatrician once and get it examined. You should go for blood tests as well and start treatment after proper examination. Start with paracetamol every 4 hourly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
