Suggest Treatment For High Fever And Vomiting In A Child
I have a baby girl that just turned one last Friday. She was up all night Tuesday night, fussing, and then started throwing up frequently yesterday morning at about 4 a.m. and didn t stop until about 7:45 a.m. . We took her to urgent care and they did a bunch of checks to make sure it wasn t strep so on and so forth they determined that it was a stomach virus and prescribed Zofran. We ve had her on a clear liquid diet with little bits of pieces of toast for the last 19 hours. She s been up off and on throughout the night and her fever has gotten up to 101 .3 with an ear thermometer reading. My question is I just gave her her last half dose of Zofran is it okay to give her some Motrin or Tylenol to try to bring her fever down
Zofran is an anti emetic and will take care of vomiting part only. For persistent fever, baby needs motrin or tylenol for sure. Once the vomiting is subsided, allow plenty of liquids including oral rehydration salt to maintain fluid and electrolyte balance in her body.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
